why i’m endorsing joseph shepard

Serving as your District 1 City Councilmember has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Together, we’ve tackled tough issues—from protecting McAfee Pool to addressing water contamination in Northeast Wichita and flooding in Crown Heights.

As I wrap up my final term, I’m proud to endorse someone I know will continue this important work: Joseph Shepard.

I’ve known Joseph for over a decade—as a student leader, advocate, and now as a community builder at Lead for America. He’s smart, passionate, and deeply committed to equity and progress. Joseph leads with integrity, brings people together, and fights for those too often left out of the conversation.

I trust him, and I believe he’s the right leader for right now.

The primary election is August 5th. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Joseph Shepard for City Council, District 1—because Wichita’s future depends on the leadership we choose today.
